Volunteering for walk MS - Sunday, April 13, 2008

We can’t do this without you. Sign up to volunteer today!

The success of Walk MS is directly related to the wonderful volunteers who help make the event go off without a hitch. We welcome volunteers with a wide range of talents and skills.  There is only one requirement: to want to do something about MS NOW. There are many jobs to choose from including registration and cheering at the finish line! To register to volunteer, please fill out the volunteer brochure or call Alexandra Whelan at 201-967-5599 ext. 223

Check Out Our Volunteer Opportunities!!

Route Marking - Route Markers provide a vital role in Walk MS.  Route markers are provided with a detailed map of the route as well as Walk MS arrows, a staple gun and tape. Route markers are asked to use these supplies (and their good judgment) to mark the route utilizing telephone poles, trees and street signs to direct our walkers along the route.

Sign Removal - What goes up, must come down!  After the Walk MS we rely on volunteers to remove all of our route markers. Volunteers may remove signs immediately after the event concludes, or sometime during the week after the Walk.

Victory Vehicle (SAG Wagon) Drivers - Victory Vehicle drivers have two primary job requirements: A) To drop off and pick up Rest Stop(s) supplies and volunteers. B) Pick up walkers along the route who need a lift to either the Rest Stop or Finish Line. Victory Vehicle Drives must be 25 years of age and hold a vaild NJ drivers license.

Registration Volunteers - Registration volunteers collect walker pledge envelopes, register walk on participants and hand out T-Shirts and route maps.

Rest Stop Volunteers - Rest Stop volunteers do everything from cheer on walkers as they come in to the rest stop to keeping the snacks on the table neat and well-stocked to breaking down the rest stop as the event comes to an end.

Finish Line Volunteers - Finish line volunteers assist with various tasks including set-up and distribution of lunch, cheering on walkers as they come in and helping to set-up and breakdown the area.

Entertainers - If you have a special talent such as face painting, magic or if you are a clown or balloon artist and would like to donate your time to a truly worthy cause, please contact us as soon as possible!
