Frequently Asked Questions
How do I register for Walk MS?
You can register online now. You will be guided through the registration process. Once your registration is complete, you will receive a confirmation email receipt. If you can't register online, please call 201-967-5599 and we will be happy to take your registration over the phone.
How much should I raise?
Raise as much as you can! The more money raised, the closer we get to a cure! We do require that you raise a minimum of $50. This way, we can put as much money as possible towards research, programs and services for people with MS and their families.
Do I have to pledge the $50 minimum myself?
No! Each walker is asked to raise a minimum of $50. This includes your self pledge (if you choose to make one) along with any other donations you collect from your friends, family, co-workers and acquaintances.
When can I start raising funds for the Walk? When are pledges due?
It's never too early to start fundraising! Your pledge sheet and sample fundraising letters are available online to help you in your collection efforts. Take all the pledges you have collected with you on Walk MS day. Please keep in mind that you have until May 13, 2008 to continue to collect and turn in pledges to count towards your fundraising total.

What if my company wants to match my pledges?
Great! To take part in the Matching Gifts Program, please visit your Human Resources Department or your Matching Gifts Coordinator and ask for a Matching Gift form. Make sure that you include your information so that we can apply the match correctly. Please send the form in with your donations, and be sure that your name and team name (if applicable), is written clearly on the form.
Do I have to attend the Walk MS to participate in the event?
No! You can participate as a "Virtual Walker." You register for the event just as everyone else but instead of attending Walk MS on April 13, 2008 you can either mail or drop your donations off to the MS Society. You will be credited just as any other walker and be eligible to receive the same prizes -- we'll even send you a T-Shirt.
What happens if it rains, snows, sleets, etc.?
Walk MS is a "rain or shine" event. Spring weather can be very unpredictable so dress in layers and bring an umbrella just in case.
Am I allowed to bring my dog with me?
Although it is not encouraged, you are allowed to bring your dog with you. However, your dog must be leashed at all times and you are responsible for cleaning up after your pet.
Are children allowed to wear rollerblades?
We're sorry, but due to safety concerns, rollerblades and skateboards are strictly prohibited.
What if I get tired along the Walk MS Trail?
Rest stops will have restrooms and will be stocked with beverages and snacks. Support vehicles will also be available at all walk locations.
